ONION MARINADE INGREDIENTS
1 Large Onion, Cut into 1/4” Slices
3 Cups Buttermilk
3 Tablespoons Vinegar
1 Teaspoon Salt
FLOUR INGREDIENTS
1/2 Cup Paleo Flour
1/2 Cup Arrowroot Flour
2 Teaspoons Pink Himalayan Salt
2 Teaspoons Paprika
2 Teaspoons Garlic Powder
Avocado Oil for Frying
ASSEMBLY
- Mix all of the marinade ingredients in a bowl.
- Lay the onion rings in a flat baking dish. Cover with marinade.
- Marinate for 2 hours.
- Pour about 3-4 inches worth of AVO into a Dutch oven. Heat over medium. The oil needs to be extremely hot before frying to ensure a crispy golden brown batter.
- Add all of the flour ingredients to a bowl and mix well.
- One by one, coat the onions with the flour until fully covered. Place on a plate lined with a paper towel.
- Working in batches, place the onion rings in the Dutch oven. Fry until crispy and golden brown. Place on a plate lined with a clean paper towel.
